Structure

Two upright stakes (L 0.43m; Wth 0.36m) set 0.24m apart in the drain face. The stakes had been worked to a wedge and chisel shaped end. They are set in well-humified Sphagnum peat containing Menyanthes seeds and some ericaceous remains. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1998. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
