Structure

Two parallel pieces of heavy brushwood in one drain face with a further roundwood in the opposing drain face (L 2.52m min.; Wth 0.33m; D 0.04m). The pieces of brushwood (L 1.1m min.) are set 0.26m apart, orientated N-S. This material is present within moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum and ericaceous remains. In the opposite drain the roundwood (L 1.27m; diam. 0.075m) is orientated NW-SE. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1998. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
