Structure

A single piece of brushwood (L 1.2m; diam. 0.04m), evident in the drain face, with a wedge point at one end and a chisel point at the other. It is present in moderately humified Sphagnum peat, which contains ericaceous remains and Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1998. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
