Structure

An irregular deposit of two split timbers and two pieces of heavy brushwood on the field surface (L 3.4m min.; Wth 2.65m min.; D 0.08m). One of the timbers (Wth 0.14m; D 0.07m) is half-split and squared at one end. The other (Wth 0.195m; D 0.055m) is tangentially split with the remains of one or possibly two mortices. All the elements are damaged and in a poor condition. This site lies in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2002. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
