Stone walls angle into the Bootown sea, forming a narrow trap where fish panic and become easy to strike. The medieval structure still stands in County Down, proving that people understood local water movement well enough to exploit it. Those angles may have turned a risky catch into a reliable dinner, while the stone itself has waited patiently for the next person clever enough to read its shape.
