What is recorded here

Five stones circle a narrow chamber in bogland beside the Laney River, their heights shrinking from the angled entrance toward the far axial stone. The measured width is only about two and a half metres, small enough for a handful of people to stand inside while the wet ground and river valley surround them. That sudden change in scale makes the circle feel less like a monument and more like a threshold, inviting entry into a hidden part of the landscape.

In gentle sloping bogland, on W side of Laney River valley. Circle of irregular outline; one entrance stone angled inwards from circumference. Orthostats are 0.5m to 1.2m L, 0.4m to 0.5m T and 0.5m to 1.2m H. Stones decrease in height from entrance to axial stone. Internal measurement along main axis, aligned ENE-WSW, is c. 2.5m. Likely dating to the Neolithic or early Bronze Age, this stone circle may have been used for ritual or ceremonial purposes, possibly aligned with seasonal or astronomical events. Local folklore sometimes associates such circles with ancient gatherings or supernatural beings.
