Stone circles, cairns and cists belong to the oldest human landscapes, where marking death, ceremony or boundary required more intention than ordinary life. Carbalintober may have held one of those places before roads, fields and memory rearranged the land. The stones may still lie buried, broken or hidden beneath grass, waiting for someone to notice the shape of the ground rather than seek a famous name.
