In an unknown location on O’Connell Square within Ennis historic town (CL033-082----). There is a reference to ‘stocks’ in 1682 and a later reference to the erection of a ‘pair’ of stocks in 1699 in the Corporation Books of Ennis as cited by Ó Dálaigh (2012, 15). Reference is also made to stocks throughout the 18th century with a pair erected in 1800 receiving a mention in the Ennis Chronicle on 23 October 1800.
