Stobs Castle, Home Farm, Gateway stands in the Scottish Borders as a late 18th Century gateway, its exact position known to the nearest metre. The stones may have marked the entrance to a working farm, guiding carts and people through a narrow gap while the castle watched from above. Whether the gateway controlled trade, privacy or simply pride remains unknown, but its survival suggests the boundary mattered enough to build and maintain.

Stobs Castle was a 17th-century military fortress built by the British Army, later used as a prisoner-of-war camp during World War I. It is remembered for its historical role in housing thousands of German and Austrian prisoners and for its significance in early 20th-century military history.
