What is recorded here
Four stones still mark a broken rectangle on the lower slopes of Lismalanny Hill, though Windele saw five and heard there had been eight. They rise from pasture like the remains of a room whose roof, walls and purpose have gone missing. A nearby early ecclesiastical enclosure invites one guess, but the stones themselves give no answer.
In pasture, on lower slopes of Lismalanny Hill. Rectangular arrangement of four stones. North pair, 1.9m apart, have parallel axes aligned NNE-SSW. West stone is broken with upper portion lying against its base; it is 0.7m L, 0.2m T and was c. 1.6m H when intact. East stone is 0.55m L, 0.35m T and 1.5m H. Second pair, 7.5m to S, stand 1.8m apart with long axes more or less at right angles to opposing N counterparts. West stone is 0.8m L, 0.4m T and 1.9m H. East stone leans to S; it is 0.8m L, 0.5m T and 1.7m H. Windele, in the mid-19th-century (Grove White 1905-25, vol. 4, 3-4), records having seen five stones here and was informed that there had been eight. Exact nature of site uncertain. Early ecclesiastical enclosure (13887) 100m to NNW. (Ó Nualláin 1984b, 71, no. 7)
