What is recorded here

Grey stone stood in Altagoaghan before human memory, witnessing seasons and storms. People may have gathered there to mark time, honour the dead or simply rest beneath its shadow. The stone is gone now, pulled from the earth or broken by change, leaving only a hollow place where certainty once stood. What remained behind is the shape of its absence, a gap in the field that still points upward.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE: THE GREY STONE (removed). Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
