What is recorded here
Mentioned once in an old survey and never seen since, the stone may have stood in Loughhill fields before memory began. People likely passed it without wondering, dropping coins or touching its edge when fear rose. Forgetting did not remove it. It refused to be known, waiting for someone reckless enough to stop asking permission and start watching.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE (O.S. memoir site, unlocated). Recorded period: UNCERTAIN; PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
