Shanbally is a hidden standing stone in County Cork, Ireland, not a public attraction or invented temple. The story is that the stone disappeared from human memory, not that it vanished from the earth. A person may have stood beside it, touched it or forgotten it; that uncertainty is what makes the place interesting.

Bowman (1934, 654) recorded a standing stone on T. Ring's land; 'This was buried'. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
