Standing stone in Portloman

Situated on NW shoulder of a flat, raised area, in pasture. Nugent’s Castle (WM018-023----) c. 130m to N and a second possible standing stone (WM018-026----) lies 195m to SE. Not depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map or on the revised 1913 ed. OS 25-inch map. No antiquity depicted at this location on any edition of the OS 6-inch maps. Described in 1983 as an upright stone (approx. H 1m) which is worn smooth on the sides by livestock rubbing against it. They have also worn a hollow area around the base of the stone.
