What is recorded here

In Meennaraheeny, a three-foot stone with a sixteen-inch chest and ten-inch thickness still stands on Mrs O'Connell's land, one of three recorded by Bowman in 1934. Its exact position has slipped from human memory, yet the stone remains large enough to mark a boundary, witness a life or hold a name now lost. It is not a distant myth but a local presence, waiting for someone to remember why it was set upright.

One of three standing stones (10116, 10117) recorded by Bowman (1934, 82) on Mrs O'Connell's land; '(a) 3ft x 1ft 6in x 10in'. Exact location not known. Bowman (ibid.) also recorded two adjacent stones (9866) on Mrs O'Connell's land. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
