What is recorded here

Killeena once held a field called Pairc na gCloch, meaning field of the Pillar-stones, but those name-giving dallans have disappeared. The earth keeps the shape of what it lost: a room without walls, a calendar without numbers. Anyone walking that land today moves through the afterlife of stone, not the stone itself.

According to Power (1923, 178) field in this townland known as 'Pairc na gCloch - field of the Pillar-stones. The name-giving dallans have unfortunately all disappeared'. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
