Kilbeg stands on the northern edge of a cairn in County Cork, its rectangular stone aligned northeast to southwest. The scrubland gives way to a commanding western view, suggesting the site marked a boundary, a meeting place or a warning rather than a forgotten shape. Its proportions remain clear enough to judge: tall enough to command attention, broad enough to resist being swallowed by grass.
