Half a mile from Burnfort Roman Catholic Church, a tilted stone still stands in a field beside the road to Island townland. It measures thirty-nine inches long, narrows from thirty-seven to eighteen inches across, and holds nineteen inches of thickness. Condon doubted it was a gallaun, but the stone remains visible enough to argue with.

Condon (1916, 65, No. 20) describes approximate location of stone ' about half a mile from Burnfort Roman Catholic Church, in a field adjoining, and to the left of, the road leading from that church to Island townland...The length is 39 inches; the breadth at the end fixed in the earth is 37 inches, while at the opposite end, it is but 18 inches. The thickness is 19 inches'. He (ibid.) comments 'I am not sure that it is a gallaun'. Location of field noted in topographic files, UCC. Exact location not known.
