Seven ancient boundaries converged at Leac Reta, a stone lost beneath the vast plain of Laoighis Reta. It stood somewhere between the great Heath of Maryborough and the foot of Dunamase, marking the exact centre where distinct territories touched. The stone has vanished from modern sight, but its absence preserves a strange truth: seven separate worlds once balanced on a single point of rock.

Unlocated standing stone on OS sheet number 13 as described in the OS letters which state on Moy Reta or the Plain of Riata, was the name of an extensive plain in the county of Leix comprehending the entire of the great Heath of Maryborough and probably the entire level country extending to the foot of Dunamase and the round hills of the Heath. This plain was anciently called Laoighis Reta and on it there was a stone called Leac Reta, at which the boundaries of the seven cantreds of leix anciently met (O'Flanagan 1933, vol. 1, p. 75).
