Glentanedowney lost its standing stone before anyone measured the hole it left. Bowman recorded the break in 1934, yet even that account points to C. T. Guiney's land rather than a mark on the ground. The stone may have been a boundary, a warning or a gift to passing cars, but its absence has become the sharper shape. People still imagine it rising through the grass, waiting to be remembered by the very field that forgot it.

Bowman (1934, 453) recorded standing stone on C. T. Guiney's land '...broken and removed'. Exact location not known.
