Clear water and sharp stone mark the edge of Dromavally. The dataset leaves the purpose empty, but the shape is not vague: a tall ridge, not a distant smudge. People may have watched weather, measured distance or marked a boundary there.

Situated on level pastureland immediately S of the village at Dromavally, this stone stands 2.1m high and measures 1.54m x .6m at base; E-W. The sides taper only slightly, but the W side exhibits a marked shoulder before rising to the pointed top a little E of centre. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
