Half a metre wide and a metre and twenty high, the stone stands rectangular in plan but narrows toward the top like a thumb pressing into wet clay. It faces east-west on a north slope in Crumpane, partly swallowed by rushes that move when no wind is visible. Three metres south, a smaller stone group waits like an answer held back. Together they mark a place where human attention once gathered, even if the names and dates have drifted into grass.

In rough rush-covered pasture, on a N-facing slope. This standing stone (0.55m x 0.38m; H 1.2m) is rectangular in plan and is orientated E-W. The upper half of the stone narrows towards the top. It is partially obscured by rushes. An anomalous stone group (CO115-083001-) is situated 3m to the S. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
