STANDING STONE in Craigs

STANDING STONE

What is recorded here

Craigs holds a standing stone from the uncertain prehistoric period, its age and purpose still debated. The rock stands beside ordinary land, waiting for someone to notice the shape it kept while people came and went.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
