Cloghphilip holds a subrectangular standing stone, one metre twenty-five tall, set in tillage with its long axis pointing NNW-SSE. It is the kind of place where a person might have measured shadow, marked a boundary, or simply watched the sky tilt through the seasons. The stone does not need a grand story to be worthy of attention. It stands in ordinary earth, waiting for someone to notice what it has always shown.
