What is recorded here

Skinner claimed six stones stood in Clochán Na Nuagh, but five vanished from memory and mapping while one remains. The survivor rises 1.65m through flat bogland north-west of Ballinskelligs Bay, tapering from a 1.25m base into a narrow NW-SE blade. It is the kind of place where certainty collapses; maybe the others sank, moved or were never more than shadow suggestions. The lone stone still marks the field, stubborn and unrecorded, refusing to disappear entirely.

This standing stone, which is not marked on the OS maps, is situated in an area of flat bogland NW of Ballinskelligs Bay. It is 1.65m high and measures 1.25m x .22m at base, tapering strongly towards the top; NW-SE. Skinner recorded another five 'Gallauns' within this townland (ITA); however, these are not remembered locally and are not recorded on the OS maps. The above description is derived from A.
