Standing stone in Ceathrú An Fheirtéaraigh

Standing stone

What is recorded here

One green stone stands in Ceathrú An Fheirtéaraigh, County Kerry. It has watched the land since before written memory. People may have gathered there to mark a boundary, honour a dead person or simply watch the sky change. The stone still holds that old purpose, waiting for someone to remember why it was set upright.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
