Conlon found two galláns in 1918, one leaning at five feet and the other buried under grass, but neither trace remains visible today. The field has taken back what the road once showed, erasing the stones from human memory while keeping their shape beneath the soil. Caherkeegane holds more than it reveals, waiting for rain or patience to bring the ancient markers back into sight.

Conlon (1918, 134) recorded two galláns in field adjoining road opposite Clashmaguire gallán (CO059-074---). First stone (L 5ft; 2ft 7ins x 10ins) was leaning heavily; second stone (L 2ft 3ins; 1ft 5ins x 8ins) was lying on ground and partially grass covered; 18ins apart (ibid.).
