What is recorded here

No visible trace survives in Ardmoneel, County Kerry, though maps still mark the absent site beside Farrantoreen Lough. The standing stone may have guided herds, marked a boundary or watched the water from level pastureland. Its disappearance leaves a hollow in the landscape where memory and stone once touched.

Located c. 200m E of KE056-032----, this monument is marked ‘Gallaun (site of)’ on the OS maps. It stood in level pastureland, about 500m SE of Farrantoreen Lough. No visible trace of it survives.
