St John the Baptists Well is a lost holy well in County Cork, Ireland, hidden inside a wet boggy area where the earth drinks rain and memory alike. People may have knelt at its edge in darkness, pouring water over wounds or speaking names they feared to whisper elsewhere. The bog kept the well from maps and measurement, forcing every visitor to trust sensation rather than sight. What is missing is not a failure of record but a hint that some places refuse to be owned, even by the living.
