St. Cuamháin (or Cuammins) is traditionally associated with a number of holy wells in Ireland, often linked to cures for skin ailments and general healing. The well at Lemonfield is likely named after this early Irish saint, whose cult was widespread in the west of Ireland, particularly in County Clare and surrounding areas.
