Freestanding circular-plan Roman Catholic church, built 1973, with projecting entrance porch. Pyramidal copper roof with central spire and gabled lights to east and west. Square-and-snecked rock-faced limestone walling. Flat-roofed entrance portico supported on mosaic tiled columns. Paired timber battened double doors flank mosaic depicting St Brendan. Date plaque to front wall. Set in own grounds.

St Brendan’s Roman Catholic church is a fine example of post Vatican II church design in the latter part of the twentieth century. The constructional possibilities of new materials and engineering advances were embraced to create light filled places of worship. The handsome mosaic adds artistic interest. Set within its own grounds, the church occupies an elevated site and is a landmark in the surrounding area.
