St Bennet's Chapel and Well

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records St Bennet's Chapel and Well as Chapel (medieval), Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St Bennet's Chapel and Well is associated with Saint Bennet, a 7th-century Irish monk and companion of St Columba, known for his healing miracles. The well was traditionally used for curing eye ailments and general healing, with rituals often involving the collection of water at dawn.
