St. Anne's Well

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records St. Anne's Well as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St. Anne's Well is associated with St. Anne, the mother of the Virgin Mary, and was a site of medieval pilgrimage and devotion. Holy wells dedicated to St. Anne were often visited for fertility and healing, reflecting broader Christian and pre-Christian traditions of water as a purifying and curative element.
