What is recorded here
Spònais is a sea cliff or coastal rock feature located in the Na h-Eileanan Siar archipelago, composed primarily of Lewisian gneiss, some of the oldest rocks in the British Isles, dating back over 2.7 billion years. These metamorphic rocks formed deep within the Earth's crust through high-pressure and high-temperature processes and are notable for their durability and role in the ancient geological history of the region.
