SMS Dresden was a German light cruiser that ran aground in Cava Sound, Scapa Flow, Orkney, on 21 November 1919, after being part of the interned German High Seas Fleet following World War I. The ship was later scuttled by its crew to prevent capture, with no lives lost; it remains a significant wartime wreck and is protected under UK law.
