Skibo Castle, Kennels stands in Sutherland as the surviving kennel block of a much larger castle, preserved from the post-medieval era when hunting dogs still waited beside human halls. The main structure has vanished, leaving these smaller rooms behind like a footnote to a forgotten house. They still mark the ground where people kept dogs, tended fires and lived beside the castle, even though the grandeur that employed them has disappeared.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Skibo Castle, Kennels as Kennels (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Skibo Castle, Kennels is associated with Skibo Castle, a 19th-century mansion built by Sir William Burrell, a Glasgow shipping magnate, in the late 1800s. The kennels are remembered as part of the estate that later became a significant cultural and historical site, now home to the Skibo Centre and the Burrell Collection nearby.
