(Sites of) Castles — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

No visible wall or tower remains on Great Island, yet a second castle is recorded there in 1607-08 beside the known castle site. That vanished building may have been a guardhouse, a lodge or a private chamber for someone who watched the water. Its absence makes the island feel wider, giving room for the life that stopped leaving marks.

There is only one reference in 1607-08 to a second castle at Great Island (Hore 1900-11, vol. 3, 229) with the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map providing the only evidence of its location within the ringwork (WX039-028001-) and adjacent to the castle site (WX039-028002-). There are no visible remains of a structure at ground level.
