Clonearl Demesne holds the buried memory of Leicesters Castle, a tower house built around 1550 for the Leicester family. Time has stripped the stone until only low banks and shallow fosses remain, hiding the true shape of the building. What is lost is not nothing; it is the difference between a fact and a life, and that difference belongs to everyone who stops to imagine it.

Built around 1550 by the Leicester family, the castle at Clonearl Demesne is remembered as a local seat of the prominent Leicester lineage, though its remains are now largely earthworks.
