What is recorded here

Chaplefield in Crevilly Valley held a church, graveyard, holy well and cross-carved stone before human memory faded. People likely drew water from the well, buried their dead beside the church and read the cross as a marker of faith. The valley may have treated the site as a threshold between everyday life and the sacred. What is certain is that Chaplefield still carries the shape of that older relationship.
