Garbally Demesne held a castle in 1574 under Mahe McTully, yet no wall or trench remains to mark the claim. A slender nineteenth-century spire still rises where the building vanished, turning forgotten stone into a thin vertical question. The land may have swallowed the castle, or the castle may have never been more than a boundary marker for pride. Either way, the site resists certainty and keeps its own shape in absence.

In former demesne land on W outskirts of Ballinasloe town. In existence in 1574 when it was in the possession of 'Mahe McTully' (Nolan, 1901b, 110). No visible surface trace survives: a 19th-C ornamental spire now marks the site (Egan 1960, 68).
