Marked as the site of a castle on the 1839 and 1940 eds. of the OS 6-inch map and represented as a recatangular embanked or moated enclosure on both. It is situated towards the bottom of an E-facing slope. This is a rectangular grass-covered area with raised corners (dims. 43m E-W; 35m N-S) defined by overgrown moats (Wth c. 6m; D below interior 1-1.5m) on each side, with an outer bank (Wth 5-6m; ext. H 0.5m) at E and S. There is no historical documentation on a castle.
