Sean Chaislean Bheárna stood on the western bank where Barna Stream meets White Strand Bay, occupied in 1574 by Owen Ohalorane. The castle vanished completely by the early 19th century, leaving no visible trace behind. It is a clean erasure, a stone mouth swallowed by the tide of time rather than a ruin preserved for pride.

Known as Sean Chaislean Bheárna, it appears to have been completely demolished by the early 19th C. No visible surface trace survives. Barna Castle was held by Owen Ohalorane in 1574 and is remembered as an early example of a Gaelic stronghold in the region, later known as Sean Chaislean Bheárna. Its site is historically significant for illustrating medieval settlement patterns along the western Irish coast.
