What is recorded here
Richard Griffith, Father of Irish Geology, was born on 20 September 1784 in Hume Street, Dublin, Ireland. He mapped the hidden bones of the island and measured every townland for the first Ordnance Survey. A plaque above that door still names him, but the street has swallowed the boy who ran past it before he knew he would draw the country itself.
