What is recorded here

Stroove is a small townland in the barony of Tirawley, County Donegal. The barony belongs to the ancient kingdom of Tír Chonaill, a name still heard in local speech. The area is part of the wider Donegal landscape where signal towers were built to carry warnings across long distances. Whether this particular tower still stands or has fallen into the ground is not known. What is clear is that Stroove was never far from the reach of human fear, trade or war.
