The Sherwood Foresters was a British Army regiment with roots in the 17th century, formed in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 45th (Nottinghamshire) and 95th Rifles Regiments. It served in numerous conflicts including the Napoleonic Wars, World Wars I and II, and was disbanded in 1970 as part of the British Army reforms.
