Sheepfolds at the edge of the Black Mountain

Roughly 300–350 metres in height, the Sheepfolds are a rocky outcrop on the northern edge of the Black Mountain, part of the ancient Carboniferous limestone and dolerite formations of the Welsh uplands. Locally notable as a landmark at the boundary of Sir Gaerfyrddin, they contribute to the region's rugged character and may have historical associations with early pastoral land use.
