What is recorded here
Former mine structures, built c.1975. Now disused. Mass concrete walls.
These massive concrete structures are a fascinating reminder of the mining and extraction that took place here in the past, and now form features of interest at the base of Sliabh Chiamálta, a popular spot for walkers. These structures form part of a larger group of industrial heritage in and around Silvermines, including chimneys and engine houses, workers houses, and outbuildings.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
