SETTLEMENT SITE? in Steeple

SETTLEMENT SITE?

What is recorded here

Under the Steeple soil, an unknown hand laid a hearth, built a wall or dug a pit before memory faded. The earth kept that much: a place where people lived, ate, argued and left marks sharp enough to survive centuries. Everything else joined the dark, but the shape of human presence still presses through the ground.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as SETTLEMENT SITE?. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
