Kilkenny still holds a deserted medieval settlement, though its exact life has faded from local memory. The land may have supported families, herds and seasonal work before abandoning the fields. Its absence is not nothing. It is a shape of life that stopped repeating, leaving behind silence, soil and the possibility that people once called the place home.
