What is recorded here
In an inquisition of the 29th April in the 6th year of Queen Elizabeth (1564) the abbot of Cloontuskert (RO037-001001-) was seized of, amongst other possessions, the town (Vill) of Clontooskyrte containing eight cottages. Quoted by J. O'Donovan in 1837 (O'Flanagan 1931, vol. 1, 49). It was probably close to (RO037-001----), but it's exact location is not known.
